This is some of what we have to look forward to in 2012

They have been known to use a bit of slander and when complaints come in, no problem. With a stroke of the key they can change the letter to suit their purpose. And if the individual complains by phone they can and have screamed into the phone that they did not change the meaning of “your letter.”

The above paragraph is where we left off talking about how The Telegraph is prone to let their letter writers use slander as long as it was aimed in the right direction. Complaints did no good. The Telegraph had a perfect cure for complaints, if you wrote a letter and made a complaint they simply changed the letter to suit their purpose and printed it. If you called to complain they simple denied it. If anyone wrote a letter and used obvious dishonesty, as long as it was targeted in the right direction The Telegraph simply printed it. If there was a complaint the dishonesty was passed of as the opinion of the writer. They ignore the fact that a lie is a lie no matter where it is printed or who wrote it. Just because they choose to use it on the opinion page of the paper does not make it true.

Back during the 2004 presidential election when they were doing everything they could to denigrate the Bush administration and cover up the dishonesty, deceit and out and out lies of John Kerry they would print anything they thought would help.

Following are two examples of what we are talking about the letters are printed in their entirety.

On Monday, August 23, 2004, The Telegraph printed a letter from an individual named Louis Jones of Macon. Here is what we were told:

    Kerry’s service
I found the Thursday political cartoon showing the donkey
at the wheel of John Kerry’s swift boat both clever and amusing.
I can’t say the same for the recent letters badmounthing Kerry’s service in Vietnam, however.
They sound like they are mostly from whining professional Vietnam veterans and Republican triple-dipper military retirees who are in a panic because AWOL Bush is going to get his clock cleaned in November.
As to the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, it suffices to say that military records obtained by The Washington Post prove conclusively that the members who are the most critical of Kerry, Larry Thurlow, who commanded a Navy swift boat alongside Kerry in Vietnam and Lt. Cmdr. George M. Elliott, who signed Bronze Star recommendations for both Kerry and Thurlow, are bald-faced liars.

                    End of Letter

It may be noted that the Washington Post did not prove anything, they were in the Kerry camp just like The Telegraph. They used what the Kerry camp let them use.  All of Kerry’s military records were never made public. That is a fact. If anyone can prove other wise we would like to see the proof. I have a copy of all of his records, which were published on line.

At any rate I wrote the following letter:

   Amusing letter
I found the letter “Kerry’ Service” published Aug. 23 amusing.
His “They are mostly from whining professional Vietnam veterans and Republican triple-dipper military retiree’s” and “Bush is going to get his clock cleaned in November” is his opinion.
While some may resent his charges against the military and veterans, I welcome it. To me it shows the depth of his mentality.
However his charges that Bush was “AWOL,” And Larry Thurlow, along with Lt. Cmdr. George M Elliott, “are bold faced liars” are serious charges.
I can only conclude that the editorial board of The Telegraph concurs with Mr. Jones since they printed the letter.
I challenge both. Either provide definitive proof of the charges or withdraw them.

End of Letter

The flimflam artist at The Telegraph cut the last sentence and printed the letter.

A call to complain did no good. In a conversation with the late Dodson, I told him “it changed the intent of the letter.” He screamed into the phone “I did not change the intent of your letter.”  We suppose he thought he was a mind reader, but I assure you he could not read my mind. I was the only one who knew the intent of that letter.

At that time The Telegraph was running as many as three letters a day from people who denigrated anyone they thought was not in favor of John Kerry.

We can be assured that The Telegraph did not single me or that letter out for special treatment. If they were doing this to this letter, they were doing the same thing to others.

They can lie about it, they can deny it or they can ignore it, but one thing that is for sure, they can not change it.

Folks we do not really care about peoples politics. However when the dishonesty and deception creeps into a so-called newspaper something is wrong. A newspaper, which will tolerate deception and promote the same, is no better than a crooked cop. Just because it is about politics makes no difference.

Have a nice day.
