They have been a dismal failure at this. Now there is an attempt to level the playing field by declaring that the Tea Party and Occupy Wall Streeters “…could be fraternal twins from the same political womb and separated at birth.”
They completely disregard “The purpose of a Newspaper”. As Bob Kohn tells us in chapter two of his book “Journalistic Fraud” according to “Adolph S. Ochs, publisher of the New York Times, 1896-1935”. The purpose is “To give the news impartially, without fear of favor regardless of party, sect or interests involved.”
In the article by William Douglas of McClatchy Newspapers titled “Occupy Wall Street shares roots with tea party" says it all. To start with, they give away their intentions in the first paragraph. They tell you what they want you to think with their “fraternal twins” bit.
Douglas carefully seeks out individuals who are willing to give quotes favorable to the slant that he wants the article to take.
They even use Obama’s lie about “…the movement ‘isn’t that much different from some of the protests that we saw from the tea party.’”
They carefully omitted the difference between the two, such as how the Tea Party cleaned up after their self by policing the area and making sure there was no trash left behind.
This is in sharp contrast to what has been reported about the “Occupy Wall Streeters” along with pictures to confirm their report. One prime example of this is the following:
“As the Occupy Wall Street protest continued in full strength in Manhattan today, the atmosphere in New York's financial district has become increasingly debauched.” We are told that: “Among the banners and flags are now discarded packets of condoms, cigarettes and bottles of spirits, while naked youngsters happily get together with just sleeping bags covering their modesty. A box of free condoms is kept in the main area where protesters are camping. In one shocking picture, a man can be seen defecating on a police car.”If you so desire you can see the pictures here.
Douglas left out the participation of the unions in this sordid affair. This is possible because Jimmy Hoffa of the Teamster Union fame while introducing Obama at a rally called the Tea Party members “son-of-a-bitches.” Apparently Obama was pleased with the performance since he approved of it.
Hoffa’s words were “We are at War, We Are Your Army. Let's Take These Sons Of Bitches Out.” The video is here.
“‘Let's take these son-of-a-bitches out and give America back to America where we belong,” he said onstage in Detroit while warming up the crowd for President Obama, who spoke at the same event.” That is here.
As for as the denial that “…the Occupy protests are being financed by labor unions or wealthy liberal Democratic Party patrons like George Soros…” just consider the following.
Consider the article “Unions back Occupy Wall Street movement” by Kevin Bogardus dated 10/15/11. Here we find that:
“On Friday, SEIU members and other unions participated in
a march in Minneapolis to call on banks to end foreclosures.
AFL-CIO members have also showed up at Occupy protests
in Boston and St. Louis.”
“On October 7, AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka was on Wall Street to talk with protesters. Lee Saunders, secretary-treasurer of
the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME), attended protests in Washington. And Henry has sent
out an email to her members nationwide to encourage them to attend protests inspired by Occupy Wall Street.”
“Even one of AFSCME’s local unions in Wisconsin made a donation to New York City’s Liberatos Pizza to help feed the Wall Street protesters.”
One other thing about the article, it may insignificant, but it shows just how petty and disingenuous both McClatchy and The Telegraph can be. If you notice they capitalize Occupy Wall Street and fail to do so with the Tea Party. Their answer may be that Wall Street is a proper name. However if you will notice five paragraphs above this one where they use the term “Occupy protesters”, (it is in green), you will know this is not so! You can see the entire article here.
There is one other thing that should be noted. We as well as others think Obama has made a very grave mistake in pulling all the troops out of Iraq. This ignores the sacrifice and deaths of the troops since the beginning of this war. The Iraqis can not defend their self. They do not even have an air force. This has opened the door for Iran and within 6 to 12 months we will either be back or have to concede the entire region to Iran. If we have to go back it is going to cost lives. We pray to the heavens that we are wrong.
The President and Publisher of The Telegraph George McCanless and his staff would never allow anything about the union members calling the Tea Party son-of-a-bitches and the type of things going on in the Occupy Wall Street protest in their paper. Their one purpose is to cover for the Obama administration even if it means misleading the people of middle Georgia.
