The Telegraph and Rape Remarks!

At first glance it would seem that the Republican Senatorial Candidate for the state of Missouri, Rep., Todd Akin, has shot himself in the foot. He is seeking the seat now held by Clara McCaskill. Akin's remarks were senseless and demonstrate sheer stupidity.

But this is about other people who make remarks which border on the same level of this kind of stupidity. They appear to think what they are saying is brilliant and even offer it as advice.

First let us look at what The Telegraph Editorial Page Editor Charles E. Richardson had to say about the Akin remarks.

Now let us go back and look at some of the remarks and advice Richardson has offered with the apparent blessings of McClatchy Newspapers and The Telegraph’s President and Publisher George McCanless.

It looks as if all reasonable people would agree that any community that allows any individual to go into the public school system and tell the students "I am going to kill you" is in bad need of help. Richardson even seems to be bragging about the fact.

Then these remarks which appear to urge people to ignore the law and defy the Judges and DFACS are inexcusable in a community that at least one candidate for sheriff tells us is "...the eighth most dangerous place in the United States."

Any individual that claims he has a God given right to kill his children needs help. Richardson tells the lady Shirley with conviction that "I brought him in here and I'll take him out".

Richardson assures a caller named Bruce that "You are king of your castle" implying he has the right to do as he pleases.

This advice is for a caller named Estee who Kenny B. called a hypocrite.

We must remember that these are the people Mercer University President William D. Underwood has invited to help train future journalists.

Perhaps Mercer university President William D. Underwood has a penchant for The Telegraphs's approach to problems. As we have seen from the above according to The Telegraph there's no place for Judges and DFACS in Macon and Bibb County.

As for other problems we can see the method preferred by McClatchy Newspapers' The Telegraph for solving them.

We hope no one in the future will have reason to reflect back on the violent methods apparently preferred by The Telegraph for problem solving and their penchant for ignoring the law.

The information is well known and seems to be ignored by the administration at Mercer. This has to be Mercer University President Underwood's call.

On the surface this could be troubling in light of what has recently happened at Penn. State when they made their choice to ignore certain facts.

Have a nice day.
