Here are a couple of examples of their bigotry and their willingness to denigrate people who they disagree with. If anyone even suggested anything, which could be turned into a derogatory title for an article, The Telegraph was Johnny on the spot. For instance you have to wonder if it was with glee when they run an AP (Associated article) with the title “Democrats call Rice a liar, Bush apologist” The delight must have been overwhelming!
If we go back and look we will find that throughout the Clinton administration the word spin was used, no one was called a liar. The Telegraph reserved that for the Bush administration, and people like Condoleezza Rice. Now if you have noticed, The Obama administration has probably told more lies than any administration since that of Richard Nixon and The Telegraph has ignored this fact.
We will get the news The Telegraph wants us to have. This is keeping with the policy of President and Publisher George McCanless as per his message conveyed to us by e-mail Friday, July 23, 2010 2:21 PM. We had questioned The Telegraph’s coverage of Rangel and Waters, two democratic politicians.
McCanless seems to enforce this policy with the help of Executive Editor Sherrie Marshall and Editorial Page Editor Charles E. Richardson.
To help explain how this works all of us who have followed the news will remember Clinton firing the U.S. Attorneys (93 of them) when he took office. The so-called main stream media and The Telegraph largely ignored it.
But later on when Bush fired eight U.S. Attorneys all hell broke loose. The media and The Telegraph set their sights on Attorney General Gonzales and the Bush Administration. In fact in an article on September 2nd 2007, The Telegraph is telling us that:
“Charges of cronyism and partisan politicking have sunk the Justice Department’s reputation to levels not seen since Watergate and damaged the Bush administration’s ability to fight crime, pursue the war on terrorism and achieve its other goals, current and former departments officials.”
The article is one slick piece. Marisa Taylor wrote the article. She mentions “Watergate”. Watergate + plus Nixon = evil! She very carefully avoided the mentioning of the names Bill Clinton, Janet Reno, Webster Hubbell, Jamie Gorlick, Eric Holder, etc., etc. She never looked to see how many people in the Clinton administration went to jail, much less how many should have been tried by a court of Law.
This was right up President and Publisher Pamela J. Browning, Executive Editor Sherrie Marshall and Editorial Page Editor Charles E. Richardson’s alley. Charles is the one we sometimes refer to as Low Grade. This is because of a Low Grade scam he tried to pull on us when we questioned his attempt to claim the Bush Administration tried to connect the 9/11 attack to Iraq. He could not prove that then and he can not prove it now.
Speaking of Nixon let’s look at an AP Article on page 5A, Monday, August 28, 2000 titled "Book says Nixon beat wife, took drugs." The Telegraph ran the article as honest news.
We were told the "Author named sources for most assertions, but many quoted got their information second-hand." Then this monument to journalistic integrity goes on to tell us "Summers' claims that Nixon abused his wife came from secondary sources. Among others, he cited journalist Seymour Hersh, who said he learned of three instances of Nixon wife beatings but did not identify his sources; retired Washington lawyer John Sears, who was a campaign consultant to Nixon and the late Bill Van Petten, a Los Angeles area reporter, who years later told a friend, not identified by Summers, that just before or after his 1962 loss to former California Gov. Pat Brown Nixon beat Mrs. Nixon 'so badly she could not go out the next day.'" The article goes on to tell us that "Sears said he had been told of the beating by two lawyers, both now dead, Walter Taylor and Pat Hillings."
This was in the year 2000 when The Telegraph ran it as honest news. It is evident now and it was evident then that it was garbage. That did not stop The Telegraph from running it as honest news.
If they were willing to sink to this level then, just think how low they must be willing to go now. They have another 10 years experience that they can utilize in order to run their little flimflam.
We often have to wonder why they do this, they have never influenced a national election in a decisive manner. That is one of the reasons why we came up with the position that they are bigoted.
Over the years it has done nothing for their circulation. In fact as we have noted before, since President and Publisher George McCanless came on board, home delivery has been reduced from 31 to 7 counties.
It is beginning to look as if President Barrack Hussein Obama and President and Publisher George McCanless have some leadership qualities in common.
Obama is presiding over the decline of the greatest nation on earth, which is 229 years old. McCanless is presiding over the decline of a 185-year-old newspaper.
Have a nice day.
