"Let the games (or scams) began"!

We can only guess but it looks like we are seeing the policies set forth by President and Publisher George McCanless and his minions in action. It seems to us that the minions have to include Executive Editor, Sherrie Marshall, Editorial Page Editor, Charles E. Richardson and Kenny Burgamy, Visiting Member (ex-banker and enabler)

We reach this conclusion about policies based on an e-mail from him dated Friday, July 23, 2010.

Today, Friday, September 2, 2011 apparently there was no news  they thought they could use, or thought that the people of middle Georgia should know about. Something like Obama, job plans, or the well being of this great Country. We have to assume Sherrie Marshall took care of this as she is executive editor.

Editorial Page Editor, Charles E. Richardson dutifully held up his duties. He or someone whose duties it was to hand pick letters chose one from an individual named G. L. Perry from Cochran [Georgia]. The sole purpose of the letter was to slam presidential candidate Gov. Perry of Texas. Maybe Gov. Perry needs slamming, we do not know and we do not pretend to know.

However we feel that if anyone is going to do this it should be done with facts, verifiable facts. As far as we can determine the letter is garbage.

The Editorial Page Editor, Charles E. Richardson with a complete disregard to the factual content and accuracy of the letter printed it. This is why we sometimes refer to him as Low-Grade.

We can assure you this has all the qualifications of a Low-Grade scam. If someone can show us where we are wrong we will apologize. Low-Grade (Executive Page Editor Charles E. Richardson) in the past has opined that this is the writers opinion! It is our position that a lie is a lie and garbage is garbage, no matter what page it is on.

The first indication that something is askew, is the fact that Perry does not know how the United States Government works.  He cites “A reader [who] recently wrote a letter…” The readers concerns was that  “… he could not get in touch with the Social Security Administration.”

Perry, the letter writer,  states as a fact “That reader will have a major problem getting in touch with the Social Security Administration if Perry is elected because there won’t be one.”  We do not understand what makes this Perry, the letter writer, think that a President Perry could single handedly do away with the Social Security Administration.

Perry, the letter writer, then goes off on a tangent telling us that “After the defeat of the health-care bill…” (we do not have the slightest idea which health-care bill was defeated) which he, the letter writer, “…witnessed with his own eyes…”.  We are told the next thing Gov. Perry “…would do is get rid of Social Security and Medicare.” He then rambles on about “…39,000 teachers he [Gov. Perry] just let go…”

We Goggled 39,000 teachers in every combination we could think of, we turned up nothing of the sort!

Then there is something about the “farmer” – “Jolly Green Giant” etc.

We goggled “Perry Jolly Green Giant” and got nothing to confirm his accusation.

Perry the letter writer then rambles on about “global warming”, religion, “evangelical Christian”, etc., etc.

Perhaps we are wrong about classifying this as garbage.

Editorial Page Editor Charles E. Richardson in publishing the letter may just be upholding the highest ethics and standards of Journalism, we do not know. However we can only call this one more Low-Grade scam on the people of middle Georgia. What is your opinion.

You can see the entire letter right here.
