An explanation of one of the terms we used!

We feel like we owe an explanation as to the reason we referred to Sherrie Marshall as, Mrs. Flim-Flam. Back on February 7 2010 she wrote an editorial for The Macon Telegraph titled “To endorse candidates or not”

She tells the reader, “Historically, newspapers vetting political candidates have been able to do what many voters not or, practically, would not. Editorial page staffs, read archived stories about them, even tell readers whether candidates have been basically responsible by, say avoiding bankruptcy or paying their taxes on time. Editorial page editors also have incredible access…”

Marshall then goes on to tell the reader that “These days candidates’ Web sites spell out in detail their positions on a range of issues”. She then goes on in parenthesis and tells us that “Of course, voters have to trust the candidate isn’t loading up on the good stuff and omitting things that might give voters pause.”  You can read what she had to say right here.

Well, she does not seem to remember the days when disagreements were sometimes settled by the remark that, “it was in the paper”. It is now an indisputable fact, which is well documented that The Telegraphs is doing the very thing she insinuated the “candidates” would do.  This is pathetic!

As for her insinuation that, “Historically, newspapers vetting political candidates…” was a benefit to the reader is so much garbage. For The Telegraph that went down the drain in 1992 when Bill Clinton came on the scene. The historical records of The Telegraph indicate this is about the time this newspaper began to slant things which have progressed to what most people might consider a complete lack of honesty and integrity.

On numerous occasions the “Editorial page editors" have espoused garbage that any grade school student would have know was not so 40 years ago.

When we look back and see how The Telegraph denigrated the people of the last administration and this includes Condoleezza Rice, Colin Powell. Dick Cheney, etc. the picture becomes clear.

After the 2008 election they made a complete change. When George McCanless arrived on the scene, it seems as if things got worse. Apparently the trend was to serve the bigotry of the staff and disregard the traditional function of a newspaper.

A check of the Bibb County Library clearly indicates this. It seems as if the function of The Telegraph, to include President and Publisher, George McCanless and the staff of The Telegraph is to provide coverage and obscure the deceit and dishonesty of this administration.

For instance President and Publisher, George McCanless, Sherrie Marshall, Charles E. Richardson and Visiting Member, Kenny Burgamy have consistently ignored the scandals of this administration.

The biggest scandal and one which may bring down the known incompetent and dishonest Attorney General of the United States, Eric Holder has been shamefully ignored. They have run one article on “Fast and Furious”.  And  for its white wash tendency, Sherrie Marshall, selected that article.

We can say that in our opinion these people are deliberately deceiving the people of middle Georgia.

This is the reason we refered to The Telegraph’s Executive Editor, Sherrie Marshall as “Mrs. Flim-Flam”.

Informing the people of middle Georgia with honest and truthful information appears to be at the very bottom of the list for The Telegraph.
