Does The [Macon] Telegraph owned by McClatchy Newspapers really think they are fooling anyone?
We would think things are becoming very difficult at The Telegraph. President and Publisher George McCanless and the staff of The Telegraph can no longer continue to ignore events in Washington, D.C. and the Obama administration and claim to be a creditable newspaper.
As for their daily talk show, (News Talk Central) aired Monday through Friday on Fox 24, WGXA TV in Macon, Georgia it has become a forum for the locals. From the phone calls of the people who call in, you would think it is for the illiterates of Bibb County. It is also used as a vehicle to advertise The Telegraph. If in fact the audience can not read this seems to be an exercise in futility.
Their conduct is becoming obvious to all. Yesterday is the first time they have mentioned the scandal of the solar power company, Solyndra and the Obama administration.
This story did not just happened, it has been out there for a while. However The Telegraph has ignored it and this has to be deliberate. It was mentioned yesterday on News Talk Central by Kenny Burgamy, Visiting Member of The Telegraph, the ex-banker and enabler. In the very limited discussion the Washington Post was mentioned. The Post was portrayed as neither “left or right” the Washington Times was portrayed as “…known to take a conservative stance.”
This is the way the Editorial Page Editor Charles E. Richardson, the one we sometimes refer to as Low-Grade put it: “The Washington Post is nather [neither] conservative or liberal they are – for over a hundred years exposed stuff that people would like to sweep under the rug. If it had been the Washington Times – it is not that the Washington Post is liberal it is just that the Washington times is known to take a conservative stance.”
The next time this was brought up, it was brought up as the first scandal of the Obama administration. If that is not an indication of what kind of newspaper The Telegraph is, then nothing is. It is absolutely dishonest and coming from Burgamy we do not understand it. Maybe it is the “Stockholm syndrome.”
Burgamy said: “The first scandal of the Obama administration Solyndra, this group out of Calif. Put those solar power panels up on top of the roofs. Apparently there has been some pressure from the white house reported by the Washington Post pressuring the Office of Management and Budget to approve a massive federal loan to this company before due diligence was complete. Now the company has filed bankruptcy in the last two weeks, looks like the taxpayers, that’s us, will be liable for 535 million dollars from this loan.”
You have to wonder what world these people living in. They have completely ignored the “Fast and Furious” scandal. There has been one article in The Telegraph about it. You can see it here.
No follow ups, nothing on the house investigations, that article was picked for its content. This is deliberate, it is disgusting and it is wrong. If The Telegraph is going to portray its self as a newspaper it should act like one.
Today September 16, 2001 they ran 385 words of a 950-word article, one carefully selected for its content. The original article was titled “Obama Admin. Ignored Warnings About Solyndra” and was written by Mathew Daly of the AP (Associated Press). It looks as if the portion of the article that was used was because it did not mention Kaiser, his visits to the White House and the fact that he was an Obama Bundler to the tune of $50,000.
The Telegraph changed the title to omit Obama’s name to something they could live with and then printed it.
The Telegraph’s article is here.
There is more on Kaiser and his activities here.
Have a nice day.
