This joke we call the News Media has descended into the nether world and reached the point of disgust.
It does not make a difference, which so-called news media you are talking about, it could be the New York times, The [Macon] Telegraph owned by McClatchy Newspapers or Erick Erickson the honcho of Redstate.com, they are all serving their own agenda.
It looks as if the letter or two which has made it into print at The Telegraph has stirred up the fact that they can not get away with ignoring the scandals of the Obama administration. Therefore it looks like the plan is to mitigate the responsibility.
Erick Erickson’s column in today’s Telegraph was titled “Operation Gun Walker”. We think this may be an effort to lift some of the heat off of The Telegraph.
If you read the article you will note in the second paragraph Erickson indicates this. You have to remember Erickson lives in the area, he is a former city council member of Macon, and has written a column for The Telegraph for some time. He knows The Telegraph and News Talk Central has not covered the scandals of the Obama administration.
Erickson seems to indicate this when he decides the proper way to address the subject is: “Leaving out the partisan issues related to President Obama’s political appointees and their knowledge of the scandal, the ATF’s conduct appears reprehensible."
Knowing his background and relationship with Visiting Member Kenny Burgamy and The Telegraph’s staff he will be glad to discuss “Operation Gun Walker” and leave out any connection to “…President Obama’s political appointees and their knowledge of the scandal….”
See our: “Could Visiting Member Kenny Burgamy be wrong?” here!
Or course we do not mean to imply The Telegraph, which is owned by McClatchy, is the only one guilty of this sort of “yellow journalism.”
They used to be, and at one time the much admired “Old Grey Lady” has degenerated into one of the best examples of “yellow journalism”
The New York Times has had a sordid reputation for their Low-Grade scams, misrepresentation and what reasonable people may consider dishonesty for 2 or 3 decades. She is no longer the “Old Gray Lady” which represents, honor, honesty, integrity and ethics. The record indicates she has deteriorated into the home of the Low-Grade scam artist.
On September 22, 2011 they run a story by Eric Lipton and John M Broder titled “In Rush to Assist Solyndra, U.S. Missed Warning Signs." The article was approximately 1873 words long and a complete disgrace to honest journalism.
Let us first look at the Title of the article, which was “In Rush to assist Solyndra, U.S. Missed Warning Signs.” This is nothing more than an attempt to shield the Obama administration from the disgrace, which they should be exposed to.
You can rest assured if this was the last administration the title of the article would have read something like this: “The Bush Administration, due to incompetence, Missed Warning Signs.” This is standard operating procedure.
Then after a few words of preparatory rhetoric, we find that: “Barely a year later, Solyndra has become one of the administration’s most costly fumbles after the company declared bankruptcy, laid off 1,100 workers and was raided by F.B.I. agents seeking evidence of possible fraud.” Anyone who has followed this story can deduce that the “fraud” came from the Obama
administration. Just plain Chicago style politics!
The Low-Grade scam artist, formerly know as the “Old Grey Lady” then informs the reader that: “Solyndra’s two top officers are to appear Friday before a House investigative committee where, their lawyers say, they will assert their Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.”
Low and behold no surprises here. The Low-Grades then inform us that it “…could cost taxpayers more than a half-billion dollars….” Surprise, surprise, surprise, is this reminiscent of Richard Milhouse Nixon and Franklin D. Roosevelt or what?
Then in the fifth paragraph we are assured that there is “no evidence” of “political favoritism” and “...administration officials assert…” all “decisions “were merit based”.
Of course this information came from a “… top White House Official…” named Valerie B. Jarrett.
The rest of the article lays out the reasons for the failure to include the shortcomings of the Obama Administration.
By now any reasonable person can draw the conclusion that despite the assurance of the Times that there is “no evidence” of political favoritism” a scam is in process. Why does any reasonable person realize this? Because of common sense!
The excessive rhetoric and verbiage will not fool a reasonable person.
The entire article can be seen here.
This is looking more and more like some of the handy work of President and publisher George McCanless and his staff at The Telegraph, but they have not excelled to this degree, yet.
Have a nice day.
