The similarities and circumstances pertaining to the so-called news media and their coverage of Roosevelt the Sycophant and Obama are amazing. There is also the similarity between the programs of the Roosevelt years and the Obama administration.

A look at the similarity in their qualifications would leave one to think Roosevelt had an edge in this area. After all he did serve as Assistant Secretary of the Navy from March 17, 1913 until August 26, 1920 and one term as Governor of New York State. Even though some may question his expertise in the area of the economy. When he took office he found a surplus of $15,000,000 left by his predecessor Al Smith. He left New York State with a deficit of $90,000,000, but we are told “He was against Big Government.” (John T. Flynn – “The Roosevelt Myth” – page 37)

Obama in what one assumes to be his ignorance is headed in that direction, he is well on the way to bankrupting this country with his trillion dollar deficits.

In Robert S. McElvaine’s book “The great Depression – America, 1929-1941” on page 133 we find where Walter Lippmann “…in one of his most famous columns, summed up the views many held of the New York governor.” He wrote: “Franklin Roosevelt was ‘a pleasant man who, without any important qualifications for the office, would very much like to be President.’

We find on page 118 of McElvaine’s book that Roosevelt “…was anything but a systematic thinker himself. Ironically, though Roosevelt was a long time advocate of planning, he had no plan.”

Cited, as an example was Roosevelts futile attempt to control the dollar with the manipulation of gold.  Like Obama’s “shovel ready jobs” which was so funny to Obama and Immelt who is chairman of the President's Council on Jobs and Competitiveness, Roosevelt found his failure at gold manipulation funny.

We are told “President Roosevelt laughingly said: “I experimented with gold and that was a flop. Why shouldn’t I experiment a little with silver?”

Obama like Roosevelt has demonstrated with his inane ability and lack of leadership that he has no idea what to do about the situation this Great Country finds itself in.  His forte seems to be pointing fingers and blaming everyone but Obama. Now judging from contemporary reports he is anxious to try his hand at “rabble rousing” to obtain support for his “class warfare” campaign.

It is now clear the direction Obama is heading. He tipped his hand when he kicked off his campaign before a joint secession of Congress. Juan Williams of NPR fame has even come around and admitted the Joint Session speech was a “campaign speech”. (O’Reilly Factor – Sept. 19, 2011) His plan seems to be too play the “class-warfare” card.  After all Roosevelt got away with it in 1932. His “Forgotten Man” speech, which at that time, the Time Magazine put it this way “After Governor Roosevelt made his rabble-rousing ‘forgotten man’ speech, Mr. Smith at a Jefferson Day dinner in Washington answered it: ‘I will take off my coat and vest and fight to the end against any candidate who persists in any demagogic appeal to the masses.’" Al Smith was Roosevelt’s opponent in the race for the democratic nomination for president in 1932. You can see it here.

Like Roosevelt, Obama has tried a hodgepodge of things, which have not worked. The difference being Roosevelt’s scheme gave the appearance of working to the point he was reelected in 1936. Although present day historians looking back give more credit for his reelection to patronage than leadership. I.e. Burton W. Folsom, Jr. in his book, “New Deal or Raw Deal?” page 191. Says “Perhaps FDR minus money in patronage would have equaled FDR a one-term president.”

Now we find that with out a plan Obama has come back to the United States Congress and asked for approximately another half-trillion dollars. To obtain this half-trillion dollars he fails to mention that the country will have to borrow it because we are broke. We might note that contrary to the so-called news media’s insistence on calling this a job plan we feel that is somewhat misleading.

What we find so disgusting is the way the media has turned on the people. This is nothing new, it began a long time ago. Now some of the same people who started it have moved on to teach journalism. The following is an example of what the news media has become and a time frame as to when it began.

B.G. Burkett and Glenna Whitley in their Book “Stolen Valor – How the Vietnam Generation Was Robbed of its History” exposed the media for their coverage of Vietnam veterans, PTSD, etc.

One notable figure which some may remember is Dan Rather of CBS news fame. He was the same Dan Rather, who used forged document to try to defeat George Bush in 2004 election.

Rather hosted the CBS special “The Wall Within” which aired on June 2nd 1988. Burkett and Whitley tells us that “For weeks, CBS aired ads promoting the hour-long special, hailing it as the ‘rebirth of the TV documentary.’” (Stolen Valor page 87)

Come to find out “The Wall Within” was a grossly, disgustingly exaggeration perpetuated by the so-called CBS news special.

Thomas K. Turnage who was at the time VA administrator protested to “Howard Stringer, president of CBS”. He wrote, “However, by your unfounded exaggeration and by presenting several of the most unfortunate individuals you could find, CBS left no doubt you intended to have the public believe, ‘These are your veterans of Vietnam.’ There is absolutely no justification for CBS to leave such an impression on the American public.”
(Stolen Valor – Page 98)

We also find that CBS was confronted by no less, than “Reader ‘s Digest.” It is pointed out that, “When confronted by Malcolm McConnell for “Reader’s Digest” and Glenna Whitley for “Texas Monthly” with the evidence that ‘The Wall Within’ was a fraud, Rather and producers Holly and Paul Fine refused to comment. ‘The producers stand behind their story,’ said Kim Akhtar, a spokeswoman for CBS. ‘They had enough proof of who they were’” (Stolen Valor – Page 106)

It should be noted this fraudulent work went on to be: “The documentary [that] was so acclaimed it became part of the CBS video history series on the Vietnam War. Dignified with a formal introduction by Walter Cronkite, one the nation’s premier war correspondent, the series sold for $150. Designated as official ‘history,’ marketed to schools and other institutions, the video now forever perpetuates the image of the Vietnam vet as a walking time bomb.”

We all know the story of Dan Rather. Wikipedia tells us that “Following an investigation commissioned by CBS, CBS fired story producer Mary Mapes and asked three other producers connected with the story to resign. Many believe Rather's retirement was hastened by this incident.”

There are no words, which properly express our feelings for conduct like this. It does illustrate the depth to which bigoted, biased and dishonest people will sink to in the name of journalism.

We see similar conduct in The Telegraph, not to this degree, but enough to demonstrate what we feel is their bigotry.

Have a nice day.
